Global Maritime Annual Conference 2013 November 2013
Global Maritime Annual
Conference 2013
Ocean Resources, Maritime Transportation and Insurance
Conference
November 2013
Gujarat National Law University,
Gujarat (www.gnlu.ac.in), a premier national law university
in India, is organizing the Global Maritime Annual Conference with
special themes on Ocean Resources, Maritime Transportation
and Insurance on November 2013 at Gandhinagar,
Gujarat, India (www.gnlugmac.com).
Relevance of the conference themes:
Exploration and exploitation of
ocean resources, maritime transportation and marine insurances are
three key challenges before the maritime nations and industry
worldwide. Ranging from marine life to manganese nodules deep in
the oceans have required never before such critical attention of
the policy-makers. Managing the exploration and operations in the
oceans in a sustainable symbiotic manner can only guarantee a
long-term solution to the broader needs of the industry and economy
of developed and developing nations. However, the research and
development, the technological know-how, far-sighted visionary
policies ensuring this objective demands a concerted and
coordinated thinking and policy formulation at local as well global
level. Developed Maritime Nations of Europe, US, Japan, Australia
and New Zealand and their R&D institutions, global industrial
conglomerates have made significant progress. While the developing
maritime nations of the remaining part of the Globe and their
industrial houses are far more behind, least to say, fully aware of
the enormous economic and ecological importance of twinning a
sustainable policy and practice in the exploration of ocean
resources and management of maritime transportation. To address
these interlinked issues and concerns, GNLU is organizing a two day
global event with special themes on Ocean Resources and Maritime
Transportation and Insurance with special focus on IOR-ARC.
Global ocean resources companies
and R&D institutions, maritime transport industry, shipping
houses and insurance companies, financers of port developments,
infrastructure and logistics companies, government and port
authorities and executives and operational managers, lawyers,
capacity-building institutions, international organisations will
tremendously benefit from the interactions and brainstorming
sessions with global partners and experts.
Secretary, Ministry of Earth
Sciences, Senior Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs,
Ministry of Shipping and Indian Navy will be among the resource
persons and have expressed keen interests and underlined the
importance of organizing the Conference.
